NYC

These days it’s almost prohibitive to travel, so many hoops to jump through and so expensive from Hawaii.   We just haven’t been able to get back east. I have family on the East Coast.

I really miss doing shows at The Bitter End in the Village, NYC.  Kenny, the owner back in the day used to give us the whole night if we wanted, though they usually had five groups per night… shuffling gear in and out like an ant farm with black T Shirts and can’t decide hair.  One night we had SIR bring all of our “rented” in backline early, it wasn’t there when we got to soundcheck. some guys had came in and said they were “picking it up”. gone.  Kenny used to say that he had not felt that kind of entire audience engagement and spontaneity since Donny Hathaway days… pretty much the highest compliment you can receive.  We make really good pizza at home but there is nothing like Rays at 2am.
